- In Norfolk, around 1,200 local family businesses pass to the next generation pa.
- At present rates, only a third will survive this succession
- Within just 5 years we could lose 4,200 local family businesses.
- Poor planning and preparation are the key issues behind this high failure rates.
- On a more positive note, family businesses seem better able to ride the economic storm - insolvency rates are lower than for non-family businesses, they have been better able to access finance and their ability to cut costs has helped solvency rates.
Providing a solution
